Corrosion of Conformity - Blind Album Cover

Third C.O.C. studio album and the first with Pepper Keenan.

Blind is in many ways the Corrosion Of Conformity album that showcased their full on transition from punk to metal. It also serves as an interesting, thrashy missing link between the crossover thrash of Animosity and the Technocracy EP; and the sludgy stoner/groove metal of Deliverance and Wiseblood and beyond. It works extremely well, combining the core elements of thrash, doom, punk, and groove metal into a diverse, yet consistent record.

The songs have stuck with me for quite a long time. The writing is brilliant for both the lyrics and instruments. The songs have crunch, catch, grime, and tact as qualities. It has consistency and diversity rolled up into one, big , delicious, metal burrito that works perfectly and is just so damn tasty. It's a molotov cocktail of styles ready to take on the system and fight authority. It's amazing just how Corrosion can ignore genre rules and put out a high quality Record such as this. It's the first metal CD I bought of my own volition and has remained a favorite of mine since. - psychoticnicholai

Corrosion of Conformity - Animosity Album Cover

Second C.O.C. album. This album represents the quintessence of the mid-eighties hardcore-crossover : it's raw, brutal and with meaningful and political lyrics.

Corrosion of Conformity - Eye for an Eye+Six Songs with Mike Singing Album Cover

I hope that everyone heard about Corrosion of Conformity. This is their debut album (+ the EP "Six Songs With Mike Singing"). It's different from the rest of their albums, because this is hardcore punk (a very good one).

Fudge Tunnel - In A Word Album Cover

It's a compilation of raging 1990-93 radio broadcast sessions, intense concert rips and bludgeoning studio covers of Black Sabbath ("Changes") and late-'60s heavy trio May Blitz ("For Madmen Only").

Tracks 1-3 were recorded for John Peel's radio show in 1990.
Track 4 was recorded as part of the 'Sweet Sound Of Excess' session.
Track 5-6 were recorded live in New York in 1993 in front of about 300 Americans who didn't pay to get in.
Tracks 7-10 were recorded for Peel in 1992.
Tracks 11-13 were recorded at the Dynamo Fest in Holland in front of 36,000 people. We shit our pants but had a fun day.

Fudge Tunnel - Hate Songs in E Minor Album Cover

Here is the full-length debut (Earache Record) album from British seminal slugde band Fudge Tunnel. When this album was released in 1991, the stoner and doom metal explosion was still a decade away. You could count the number of popular, active sludge bands on two hands. But ‘Hate Songs in E Minor’ undeniably introduced one of the heaviest and most interesting bands of the 1990s.

Core - Revival Cover

Great forgotten stoner rock band from New Jersey.

"Core debuted with their first album, Revival, in 1996 on Atlantic Records. The album was produced by Billy Anderson and supported by tours with Fu Manchu, Clutch and Orange 9mm.[1] Despite this publicity, the album suffered due to limited promotion.[1] The band bounced back in 1999 with their follow up, The Hustle Is On on MIA Records and Tee Pee Records. This album features artwork by Arik Roper. The album was supported by a tour entitled "Riff Rock Railroad," which also featured Atomic Bitchwax and Nebula.

In addition to the two albums, Core was also featured on the MeteorCity Records compilation Welcome to Meteor City, an album that showcased numerous Kyuss-like bands and helped establish MeteorCity. They also contributed "Soul Shaker" (a cover of Aerosmith's "Soul Saver") to the Small Stone Records tribute compilation Right in the Nuts.

Napalm Death - Hatred Surge Demo Album Cover

I love this demo. It's very raw, pure punk rock (ok, maybe more hardcore punk). The line-up: Nic Bullen (Scorn) - vocals, Miles Ratledge - drums, Justin Broadrick (Godflesh, Jesu) - guitar, Peter Shaw - bass.
